Committees: Purchasing Commission - Chair, Commerce Industry & Agriculture - Vice-Chair, Employee Compensation & Benefits - Vice Chair, Health Education & Welfare, Tri-Cities Airport Authority Board, Washington County/Johnson City Animal Shelter - President, BrightRidge Board of Directors

Occupation: I retired after 40 years in the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry; the last 20 years were with Coca-Cola. I am a volunteer for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA.)

Personal: I am a native of Washington County. My family actually settled the area off of Huffine Road. I graduated from David Crockett High School and ETSU with a BA in Marketing. I am married to Ellen (Riddle) Huffine. We have three “four legged” children, Josie, Jack & Abby who all were adopted from the Washington County – Johnson City Animal Shelter.  We attend Eden Methodist Church where I serve as Chairman of the Trustees.

Guiding Principles: Growing up on the family farm, my parents taught me a strong work ethic. My father always said, “If you are going to do something, do it right and do it right the first time!”  As a Commissioner, I want to see our County continue to grow our economic base, our education system and provide as many services as possible to our residents in the most financially responsible way.
