[ARCHIVED] Food Drive Donations to the Jonesborough Area Ministerial Association

GroupJusticeCenter re

Washington County commissioners, officials and staff from both the George Jaynes Justice Center and the Old Jonesborough Courthouse teamed up to provide boxed food and canned goods to the Jonesborough Area Ministerial Association this week.

The donations culminated an end to a week-long food drive at both the Justice Center and the Old Jonesborough Courthouse.

“This is the second consecutive year that we have held the food drive,” said Washington County Commissioner Ken Huffine. “And this year we were able to collect even more food to serve those less fortunate in our community. We are so appreciative of our elected officials and staff who serve Washington County citizens, for their willingness to make this food drive a success.”

“JAMA is so blessed by the generosity of the County employees and the community as a whole, “said Rick Newell, assistant treasurer of JAMA. “We are so grateful for the donations that will help us serve the citizens of our community.”

The food pantry provides quality food items to households experiencing food insecurity. JAMA supplies critical nutrition to hungry individuals and families. For more information, please call JAMA at (423) 753-3942.
