CityCountyLeaders re

Elected officials from three local governing bodies got together over coffee and tea Tuesday, November 29 for a “Food and Fellowship” social at the International Storytelling Center. The Washington County Commission hosted the event that included representatives from the Town of Jonesborough Board of Mayor and Aldermen and the Johnson City Commission for an opportunity to chat without conducting business.

“Our goal was to open up channels of communications to promote regionalism and cooperation among local government leaders in Washington County,” said Commissioner Kenneth Huffine. “With an outstanding turnout and an opportunity to chat informally in a friendly setting, we accomplished that and look forward to a continuing cooperative, regional spirit that ultimately pays dividends for all of our constituents.”
