Trustee’s Office in Johnson City Closes for Season

JONESBOROUGH – With more than 95% of Washington County property taxes collected, Washington County will temporarily close the Trustee’s office for in-person service until fall.

The office, which shares space with the County Clerk’s office in Johnson City, will close at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022 for the summer.

“Our Johnson City staff will move to the Trustee’s office in the downtown Jonesborough courthouse and continue to serve citizens throughout the summer,” said Trustee Rick Storey.  “For the convenience of city residents, we do have a drop box available for payments. It is monitored, and residents can safely leave payments there.”

Taxpayers are asked to provide phone number and email address with payments left in the Johnson City office’s drop box so receipts can be emailed. Do not deposit cash.

The Johnson City location will reopen in October of this year to server all Washington County taxpayers. The County Clerk’s Office will remain open.
