[ARCHIVED] Open-top dumpsters placed to assist with disposal of Household Waste

The Johnson City Public Works department and Washington County Solid Waste have placed open-top dumpsters to assist those impacted by flooding with the disposal of household waste.

  • New Salem Baptist Church, 421 Lester Snapp Road, Limestone
  • Jackson Bridge Road, at the bridge (Jonesborough side, corner of Jackson Bridge and Dillow Road)
  • South Central Ruritan Park, 2639 Highway 107, Chuckey
  • Nolichuckey Valley Volunteer Fire Department, 133 Mathes Circle, Chuckey
  • Lamar School, 3261 Hwy 81S, Jonesborough
  • Liberty Church, 91 Guy Brown Road, Chuckey
  • Cherry Grove Baptist Church, 104 Cherry Grove Road, Jonesborough
  • Embreeville Fire Department, 4061 Hwy 81S, Erwin
  • Sheriff's Command Center, corner of Hwy 107 and 81S

An open-top dumpster is also available for city residents who may have household waste from power outages at:

  • Johnson City Solid Waste Services, 91 New St., Johnson City

All containers are for the disposal of household waste only; no storm debris or large items.

For Solid Waste customers within city limits, storm debris will be collected curbside as part of regular brush collection. 

Public Works will provide residential solid waste collection to its customers in the impacted areas of Washington County on a regular schedule on Thursday. Please be patient, as our team may face travel obstacles and pick-up could be delayed.
