Washington County Mayor Joe Grandy joined with the mayors of Johnson City (Todd Fowler) and Jonesborough (Chuck Vest) to highlight the positives in our community during the biannual Johnson City Chamber of Commerce State of the City/County/Town luncheon held at Grace Meadows Farm in Jonesborough April 11.
Mayor Grandy said the theme of his address was “Working Together” and he showed a video highlighting many of Washington County’s accomplishments as a county and in cooperation with the city and town. Some of those include positive growth and new housing construction, new athletic fields in Boones Creek, a joint waterline project with Jonesborough, a new Jonesborough Elementary School, the new Boones Creek TCAT and business expansion in the Industrial Park.
The event featured a packed house with about 200 people in attendance. Washington County commissioners and other elected officials and department heads attended the luncheon.
