Chamber Leadership Group Visit - Feb. 17, 2022
The Johnson City/Washington County Chamber's Leadership Group started its day learning about the ins and outs of financing county services.
Director of Accounts & Budgets Mitch Meredith explained funding sources and how those filter into the different departments within County Government.
After stops in the County Archives and touring the Courts, the group met up with Washington County Mayor Joe Grandy for a Lunch and Learn at the Black Olive.
The next stop was to meet Sheriff Keith Sexton at the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center.
Sheriff Sexton explained how he's improving community policing programs and updating the Detention Center.
Before touring the Work House and Detention Center, the Sheriff introduced Chamber guests to one of our detection K-9s and his handler.
Allen Kyker, who manages the County's fleet, explained what equipment is on a cruiser. Capt. Randall Wines was on hand for questions regarding patrols.
